Interesting Facts

  • The kiwi is the smallest living member of the ratite family, a group of flightless birds which includes rheas, ostriches, emu and the extinct Moa
  • These are some different types of kiwis. Little spotted kiwi (Apteryx owenii),Great spotted kiwi or roroa (Apteryx haastii),Tokoeka (Apteryx australis),Rowi (Apteryx rowi),Brown kiwi (Apteryx mantelli)
  • Kiwis cannot fly because they have little wings.   
  • Kiwis live under logs or under dense vegetation.
  • Kiwis are the only birds that have nostrils.

Personal information we can share online   e.g. favourite things, hobbies, favourite food, first name, age
Private information we do not share online   e.g. home address, birth date, home phone number, full name. If we are not sure we keep it private.

My name is William and I am 9 years old and I am a boy. My favourite subjects at school is math and reading. My favourite song is cat daddy and teach me how to dougie. My favourite rugby team is Samoa and Tonga and my favourite food is kit kat and Mcdonalds.

How to grow big and beautiful plants?

WAL: about how plants grow best


This is what I think about how plants grow.
We will be doing some experiments to find out if it is true.

1. How much sunlight do plants need to grow?
Only 1 hour a day but others need a lots.

2. Can plants grow in the shade? Can they grow inside?
No because they will die.

3. Can plants grow better by talking to them? Why?
No because you're not taking care of your plant.

4. Can plants grow in sand? or rocks? Why?
Plants cannot grow in any because they will die and they will not get any water.

5. How much water do plants need to grow? What type of water?
Only 1 hour a day but clean and fresh water.

6. Can you feed plants food? If yes, what kind?
No because plants cannot eat food.

A plant needs water and carbon dioxide and sun. The sunlight turns these things into sugars that help the plant grow.
