How to Make a Tapa Cloth

Sketching Shells
Firstly,we had to sketch little or big shells with pencil. Then we sketched the outlines, followed by the inside of the shells. Some had a lot of lines.

Transferring Design

Secondly, after sketching the shells we chose one to go on our Tapa cloth. We did the pattern for the border. I used Samoan and New Zealand patterns for my border. Then we went over the sketch with black vivid.

Scrunching  it up

Next,we scrunched our tapa cloth 30 times. We textured our tapa cloth so it was soft. Then after that it looked like a real tapa cloth.

Add colour

Finally,we started to add some of colours. But we could only use black and brown. That is so it would look like a real tapa cloth. I was very pleased with my Tapa cloth, it looked great!

my writing

mad diary

Friday 9 March

Dear Diary,

This week has been very busy at Tamaki Primary we had test sort ball and trips you know how hard it is for our teachers work. They look at our writing  and mark all our book.

One thing I have really enjoyed is doing assessment week on the net book.
I enjoyed it because it is fun and we can learn more on the net book.

It has been Assessment Week also. We have been only our maths and reading test on our net book.
I think I did well in the test if i did not get 100% i do not need to get anger about it as long as i try my best.

I felt really happy this week when we got our own net book.
This week I learned that if Tamaki Primary has are test we a all going to try our best.

Next week I am looking forward to get better at using my net book doing more test and joining the sort ball team
